Broadcom: Leader in Gartner SOAP Magic Quadrant

Automic is a Leader in Gartner’s First Magic Quadrant for SOAPs

Sept 2024 — Gartner released its Magic Quadrant for Service Orchestration & Automation Platforms (SOAPs).

Gartner evaluated 13 products, and Automic stood out for its massive scalability, smart insights, and ability to handle complex workloads like a pro.

Gartner said Broadcom’s pace of innovation seemed slower compared to some competitors. But here’s the real story—while others rushed to market with half-baked cloud solutions, Broadcom took the time to release a fully functional SaaS solution that mirrored its powerful on-prem version feature-for-feature.

Quality over speed, every time!

Gartner also mentioned that Broadcom’s wide product family could cause a bit of confusion—but it allows the cross-sharing of innovation in their product suite, and Broadcom keeps investing in each solution, including AutoSys, another rock-solid SOAP.

There’s a lot more to say about this report. Broadcom released a 43-minute analysis (available here), and coming soon, we’ll have the Bobfather Live for A Close Look at Gartner’s Top Players in Service Orchestration.

NEW White Paper — EMA Research on the Automation Maturity Model and AAI

Quick Links

Automation is the ringleader of digital transformation, juggling cloud computing, AI, and IoT while keeping the entire show running smoothly.

The Automation Surge

  • 82% of organizations reported an increase in job volumes.
  • Use of Workload Automation (WLA) products jumped from 43.9% in 2019 to 51.2% in 2023.

The Chaos of Complexity

  • Missed SLAs rose from 84% in 2020 to 89% in 2023, with job failure rates increasing.
  • Organizations face challenges due to fragmented views from multiple WLA products.

Advancing Automation Maturity

  • Transitioning from reactive to dynamic, business-driven management is essential.
  • Higher automation maturity leads to better decision-making and process optimization.

Broadcom’s Solution

The Automation Analytics & Intelligence is one platform that offers the remedy:

  • Comprehensive visibility across multiple scheduling solutions.
  • Predictive analytics to foresee SLA impacts before they occur.
  • Enhanced process monitoring from a business perspective.

With the right automation intelligence, businesses can transform automation from a simple task manager to a savvy decision-maker.

Enterprise Level AI: Key Insights from the Google-led Demo

The Google-led demonstration of Gemini Gen AI highlighted the profound impact AI will have on Workload Automation.

For the best moments, go to 2:30 and 14:20..

Transitioning Generative AI to Production

  • Utilize Existing Solutions: Before building your own Large Language Model (LLM), explore available options like translation and transcription services. Don’t reinvent the wheel when robust solutions like Contact Center AI already exist.

Building LLM Applications

  • Prompt Engineering: Start by crafting effective prompts. For LLMs to work on new cases, they need to be given the right context, often using Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) to gather information.
  • Long-Context Capabilities: With features like those in Gemini 1.5 Pro, you can input extensive information directly into prompts, simplifying the process.

Revolutionizing Development

  • AI as an Assistant: In a fast-paced environment, AI can streamline the development process by organizing vast amounts of documentation and specifications into actionable insights.

Enhancing LLM Performance

To improve LLM performance, consider these strategies: clear instructions, assign a role, define goals and formats, include examples, add context, ask the model to explain its reasoning, break down complex tasks, and experiment with parameters.

LLM Grounding

  • Grounding Techniques: When data exceeds the 2,000,000 token limit, grounding LLMs through RAG becomes vital. Using Vertex AI Search simplifies this process, allowing Broadcom teams to avoid building their own pipelines.
  • Google Search Integration: Grounding LLMs with Google search results can reduce hallucinations and provide up-to-date information.

Understanding AI Agents

  • AI Agents Defined: AI agents are autonomous applications with roles and tools designed to achieve specific goals. They consist of models (like Gemini 1.5 Pro), tools (APIs, functions), and orchestration to coordinate their efforts.
  • Creating Agentic Applications: Utilize Vertex AI Agent Builder for a low-code solution to develop agent applications.

Multi-Agent Orchestration

  • Teamwork in AI: Envision a team of agents, each with distinct roles. This collaboration allows for efficient task management and can outperform single advanced models in complex requests.

The Future of AI: Project Astra

  • Innovative AI Assistants: Google’s Project Astra promises AI assistants that communicate using sounds, videos, and images. This includes recognizing sounds, answering queries, and even locating lost items.
  • Personalized Experiences: The potential for tailored generative AI applications based on user interactions.
  • The video of this is worth watching. Timestamp: 14:20

Partnership Highlights
